The competition will feature 12 teams from Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon, and Wamba local government areas, all carefully selected by the Football Association Chairmen in their respective areas.

The teams are divided into four groups:
Group A: Turaki FC Wamba, Black Warriors FC Nasarawa Eggon, and Young Generation Wamba
The Maikaya Development Foundation (MDF) Nasarawa North Peace and Unity Football Tournament will commence on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Central Primary School, Akwanga. The opening match features Turaki FC (Wamba) against Black Warriors FC (Nasarawa Eggon) in the Group A Stage.
The teams in Group B are Gudi Selected Gudi, Depot United FC Akwanga, and Nchikpe United FC Akwanga, while Group C consists of Stallion FC Nasarawa Eggon, Pioneer FC Wamba, and Black stars FC Akwanga, and Group D comprises Akwanga Selected Akwanga, Samba FC Nasarawa Eggon, and Andaha Selected FC Akwanga.
Mr. Usman Umar, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, emphasized that the tournament seeks to foster unity and peace through sports, aligning with the core values of Maikaya Development Foundation, during his speech at the draws in JK Plams, Akwanga.
The organizer pledged a captivating commencement to the tournament, noting that the event seeks to cultivate community spirit and unity through football, while emphasizing the foundation’s dedication to local engagement and support for grassroots sports.
He emphasized the importance of adhering to the rules and embracing the spirit of camaraderie inherent to the game.
