Group insists NRM is Nigeria’s sole path to greatness, citing failure of dominant parties

Socio-political organizations from the southeast geopolitical zone in Nigeria, comprising members of the All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, All Progressives Grand Alliance, Labour Party, and African Democratic Congress, under the auspices of Progressive Women for Change and Nigerian Women Society for Good Governance, have declared their support for the National Rescue Movement to deepen democratic governance in the country.

The group’s declaration coincided with the worsening economic crisis and the resurgence of terror attacks in some regions of the country.

In a statement jointly signed on Saturday, Lady Ifeoma Nnadozie and Mrs Salome Nwodo, the Conveners of the women organisations, expressed dismay over the current economic and security challenges undermining Nigeria’s efforts to overcome them and achieve prosperity.

The southeast women lamented that past and present governments in the country have been ineffective, lacking the requisite capacity for sound leadership and solutions to the numerous challenges confronting the nation and its citizens.

The organizations asserted that the leadership paradigm offered to Nigerians by successive administrations is defined by rampant corruption, which they believed undermines essential democratic principles.

They contended that the time is ripe for all well-meaning Nigerian citizens, irrespective of their religious, political, and tribal affiliations, to pool their knowledge and expertise, with the goal of finding solutions to the myriad challenges constraining national development.

According to them, ‘NRM is a veritable platform and the only alternative route to a greater Nigerian society.’ The ideologies of NRM focus on the welfare of citizens, including wealth and job creation, industrial development, massive road infrastructure, effective security architecture, improved education and health systems, and numerous other impactful developmental agendas for the country.

Successive governments in Nigeria have failed to demonstrate the capacity, competence, and political will to salvage the most populous African nation in the world from the shackles of economic quagmires, insecurity, and other teething problems that truncate our collective desires for economic and infrastructural development. And there’s no doubt NRM is poised to solve these festering challenges facing the country,

“Nigerian women applauded the exemplary leadership of Chief Edozie Njoku, Chairman of the National Rescue Mission, and endorsed his commitment to strengthening internal democracy in the party’s decision-making mechanisms.”

They observed that Chief Edozie Njoku continues to demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities as a perfect democrat and true servant leader, expressing confidence in Chief Njoku’s ability to lead NRM to victory in the forthcoming 2027 presidential, governorship, national and state houses of assemblies.

“We are visiting our respective states of origin to register as NRM members in our various local electoral wards, interface with critical stakeholders of the party at all levels and provide necessary supports to the National Working Committee of the party.”

“In reaffirming their unshakeable commitments and determination to persist in making vital contributions to the consolidation of genuine democratic governance in the country under NRM, Southeast women urged democracy supporters to join the National Rescue Mission in its campaign for responsible governance in the country.”
