2027: Oborevwori’s performance scares opposition leaders – Oghenesivbe
…Says N275b approved for mega projects in Delta
In less than two years in office, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s impressive performance and numerous achievements in Delta State have clearly endangered the political survival of opposition leaders across the three senatorial districts.
During a public affairs radio interview on Saturday, Dr. Barr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Director General of the Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, asserted that individuals preparing to contest the governorship election in 2027 are simply pursuing a futile endeavor.
The Bureau Chief pointed out that recent vitriolic remarks by some leaders of the major opposition party in Delta State, the All Progressives Congress, APC, against the state governor, are simply weak and ineffective ploys that cannot override or overshadow the commendable governance strides of Governor Oborevwori, who is focused and determined to achieve unparalleled success in this dispensation.
He said that the N275 billion recently approved by the state executive council presided over by the governor, clearly revealed that Delta State is in the fast lane of socioeconomic and mega infrastructural development in a monumental dimension.
Dr Oghenesivbe assured that governor Oborevwori who recently emerged as Nigeria’s “Governor of the Year” due to his visionary leadership, competence and prudent management of state resources, shall continue to spring pleasant surprises.
He noted that some political gladiators are already suffocating politically ahead of 2027, because of the massive public support for governor Oborevwori, adding that the recent defection from PDP by two federal lawmakers has sporadically upscaled the popularity rating of the state governor and the PDP across the senatorial districts.
And on the ongoing “Drug Free Delta” campaign across the state, Dr Oghenesivbe disclosed that governor Oborevwori is doing the needful to ensure that the colourful destiny of any Delta youth is nurtured to fruition through the collaborative efforts of Parents, faith-based organisations and the state government, especially in the area of good patenting, mentorship and human capacity development.
He noted that the ongoing campaign against drug abuse and use of Illicit drugs is making significant progress as Secondary School students across the state resonates with “Yes to Life, No to Drug Abuse,” pointing out that the campaign is the first of it’s kind jointly embarked upon by the State government and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Delta State Command.
Dr Oghenesivbe, said the grand finale of the “Drug Free Delta” will take place at the Royal Place Hall opposite the ORODJE of Okpe Kingdom place in Orerokpe, Okpe Local Government Area on Tuesday 18th February beginning from 10am, adding that the next phase of the campaign shall take the team to institutions of higher learning across the three Senatorial Districts.
“It’s crystal clear that some leaders of the opposition political parties working very hard to dent the enviable reputation of governor Oborevwori shall crash like a pack of cards sooner than later.
“Those who recently defected from PDP for selfish personal political interests did so at their own individual peril. PDP as a party cannot be moved by such political antics. We shall reclaim all PDP Delta seats at the National Assembly come 2027. The signs are already there for all to see.
“We are confident that any weapon fashion against our governor shall hit brick walls, because God is watching over him jealously. Political media propaganda will have no negative effects of governor Oborevwori.
Come 2027, all eligible voters shall vote for Oborevwori’s Scorecard. They will not vote for lies and petty media propaganda of opposition leaders in the state.

“Under his leadership, N275billion worth of projects was approved at the first state executive council meeting, this year. This is another uncommon record that shall be very difficult to beat, and no well meaning Deltan can afford to look the other way without commending him for this yet another giant stride” Oghenesivbe said.
