Ex-NSHA Speaker Balarabe to Environment Commissioner: Gov Sule is committed to attracting foreign investors, combating illegal mining is critical to actualizing his vision

The immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has urged the newly appointed Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Barrister Isaac Danladi, to adopt a productive and diplomatic approach to address the chaotic situations within the state’s mining communities.

Mr. Balarabe, the former representative of Umaishas/Ugya State Constituency, made these remarks during a congratulatory visit to Barrister Danladi’s office on Wednesday in Lafia, the State capital.

The Toto LG political leader and Chairman governing council Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for the astute selection of Barrister Isaac Danladi to oversee the crucial ministry, emphasizing the need for Danladi to prepare diligently for the challenges ahead due to the sensitive nature of his role.

“In pursuit of the ministry’s vision, Hon. Balarabe encouraged Barrister Danladi to work tirelessly to identify and amicably resolve the issues plaguing the state’s mining communities.”

“With the vast mineral deposits scattered across our state, we have a tremendous opportunity to reduce our reliance on federal allocations,” he stated.

“Through efficient resource utilization, our internally generated revenue has the potential to support and realize Nasarawa State’s developmental aspirations.”

According to the former Speaker, Governor Abdullahi Sule is committed to attracting foreign investors, stressing that combating illegal mining is essential to realizing this vision.

Welcoming the former Speaker and other former lawmakers, Barrister Isaac Danladi stressed that Nasarawa State’s advancement requires collaborative efforts, encouraging stakeholders to support Governor Abdullahi Sule’s policy initiatives for the state’s betterment.
