Former Nasarawa lawmakers, led by ex-Speaker and AG, visit Speaker Jatau to offer condolences over Clerk demise

The Accountant General of Nasarawa State and Chairman of the Forum of Former Lawmakers, Rt. Hon. Dr. Musa Ahmed Mohammed, led a delegation of former lawmakers on a condolence visit to Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, as well as members and staff of the legislature.
The visit was to mourn the passing of Ego Maikeffi Abashe, who served as the Clerk to the Nasarawa State House of Assembly until his death.
Ego Maikeffi Abashe, the longest-serving Clerk of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, due to a prolonged illness235. His death has been mourned by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, and other members of the assembly
During the condolence visit to the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Dr. Musa Ahmed Mohammed praised the late Ego Maikeffi Abashe for his virtues and contributions to the legislature, describing his death as a significant loss.
Reflecting on their time working together when he was Speaker, he urged the current Speaker, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, to accept the loss as the will of Almighty God.
He prayed for Abashe’s soul to rest peacefully in paradise and for divine comfort for those mourning his passing
In response to the condolence visit led by Rt. Hon. Dr. Musa Ahmed Mohammed, the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, expressed gratitude to the delegation for their support during the loss of Ego Maikeffi Abashe.
He appreciated their solidarity with his former constituency and commended the positive spirit demonstrated by his colleagues during this difficult time.
After the condolence visit to the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, the delegation led by Rt. Hon. Dr. Musa Ahmed Mohammed proceeded to the home of the late Ego Maikeffi Abashe in Akurba. They were received by Mr. Haruna, who represented His Excellency, Ambassador Timothy Kasuwa, the head of the family.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues during the visit to the late Ego Maikeffi Abashe’s family in Akurba, the Accountant General of Nasarawa State, Rt. Hon. Dr. Musa Ahmed Mohammed, urged the family to take solace in the will of Almighty God, who gives and takes life. He encouraged the widow, children, and other relatives to emulate Abashe’s virtues of diligence, dedication, hard work, and transparency. He prayed for God to forgive Abashe’s sins, grant his soul peaceful rest in paradise, and provide the family with the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
The head of the family, Ambassador Timothy Kasuwa, expressed gratitude to the delegation led by Rt. Hon. Dr. Musa Ahmed Mohammed for their condolence visit and their generous donation of one million naira. He appreciated the gesture, which was announced earlier by the former Speaker on behalf of his colleagues, as a means to alleviate the family’s situation during this difficult time.
