Olamaboro council boss reaffirms commitment to empowering women in farming
The Executive Chairman of Olamaboro local government area of Kogi State, Comrade Ameh Williams reinstating his administration’s commitment to empowering youths and women in line with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s “New Direction” government.

However, Comrade Williams has been involved in various initiatives, such as enhancing security and improving revenue generation in Olamaboro Local Government Area
The Chairman expressed this view when he received a delegation of small-scale women farmers from the Olamaboro chapter of the Organisation, who paid him a courtesy visit to his office.
Williams commended the group’s visit and recognized the initiatives of women farmers in the local government. He emphasized the efforts of the Executive Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, in supporting, developing, and enhancing agriculture in Kogi and Olamaboro Local Government.
He assured the organisation that his administration would strive to emulate the governor’s initiatives in developing agriculture and supporting small-scale women farmers in Olamaboro. He also promised that his administration would provide support for agriculture, stating that his doors are always open to farmers across the local government.
The women farmers group congratulated the Council boss on his emergence as local government chairman, lauding him for providing an enabling environment for women to participate in his administration and deeming it a rare opportunity.

The group’s leader commended comrade Ameh Williams for demonstrating exceptional leadership qualities, being accessible to his people, and devising development plans for Olamaboro Local Government. The group also highlighted their challenges, including funding shortages, restricted land access, and inadequate equipment.
