Engineer Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) leader inĀ Kogi local government area, has advocated for strong support of the current administration at both local, state, and national levels.,Ā emphasizing that the support is crucial for continuing to reap the benefits of democracy.
The Commissioner disclosed on Saturday at the Ramadan Iftar event organised by Hon Danladi Suleiman Aguye, who represents Kogi/Lokoja federal constituency in the House of Representatives, attended by Constituents
The young politician emphasizes community service and youth empowerment, which aligns with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s broader objective.
The Gegu Beki born Engineer cum politician stated that the governing party in Kogi and at National levels will retain control of all elective positions in light of its remarkable achievements over the years.
Engineer Bashir Gegu noted that the opposition in Kogi State has lost focus, leading to confusion in forming its structure.
He said the lack of focus and structural issues contribute to the ongoing challenges faced by the opposition, hindering their ability to effectively organize and present a unified front against the ruling party.
“As Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources representing Kogi LG at SEC, my party, the APC, has played a pivotal role in various community development projects, including the establishment of an ultra-modern hospital and electrification initiatives amongst others.”
While praising Hon. Danladi Suleiman Aguye, the federal lawmaker representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Engineer Gegu lauded his grassroots development initiatives. His efforts have positively impacted the less privileged, earning him recognition as an “Outstanding Leader in Citizens’ Welfare”.
Gegu praised the immeasurable contributions of the federal Lawmaker to the constituents, urged him to sustain the feat even as he reiterated that Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency remains a no-go area, adding is intact for Gov. Ododo.

He said Aguye dedication to development projects and support for the downtrodden has been described as a model for effective representation
He stated that the event signifies an endorsement for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododoās second term bid in the 2027 elections
Engr. Bashir Gegu pointed out that within Ododo’s first year in office, he has delivered 70% of the dividends of democracy to the grassroots. He also observed that the Governor’s efforts across various sectors reflect significant progress in providing benefits to local communities and ensuring democracy yields tangible results for citizens.
He affirmed that APC is the party of the present, future, and beyond, and assured that the people of Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency will cast their votes for APC in the 2027 elections, as God wills.
