Honourable Silas Ali Agara, the Director General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) and former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu aims for all Nigerians to benefit from the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI).

Agara said the initiative aligns with the NDE’s mandate to combat mass unemployment by providing vocational development, entrepreneurship, and agriculture skills training.

Under Agara’s leadership, the NDE is working to create job opportunities and enhance economic growth, reflecting President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Agara spoke at a 2-day review meeting hosted by the NDE Model Skills Acquisition Training Center, Kuduru, Bwari, Abuja on Monday.

According to him, “The launch of President Tinubu’s RHEI on December 6 last year has resulted in over 93,731 enrollees, with 5,532 graduates emerging as the first batch last month.”

“We have issued them start-up packs to embark on self-employment opportunities in ICT, fashion and design, solar installation, welding and fabrication amongst others.”

“I want the beneficiaries to complete the payment of the cost of the working tools given to them as loans as at when due in six months.” He said.

He expressed gratitude to various state governments for their support of the program in empowering future generations.

The DG invites management staff participants to participate in a brainstorming exercise focused on harnessing Internet Communication Technology (ICT) to realize international best practices in beneficiary selection, training, and monitoring.

The former Nasarawa Deputy Governor affirmed that he will tirelessly work towards transforming NDE into an ICT compliant directorate in a short span by organizing training, retraining, and encouraging staff to acquire ICT expertise, thereby propelling national growth and development.

In their separate remarks, Mr. Chimereze Noble Onyekachi and Mrs Elizabeth Omoshola, FCT coordinator, observed that most youths cooperate with their trainers during training, recommending that upcoming batches adopt a similar approach.
