Nasarawa Youths Want Agara to Run for Governor in 2027

The Coalition of Nasarawa State Youths, under the umbrella of the Nasarawa Patriotic Youth Alliance (NAPYA), Nasarawa West Senatorial District, has called on former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Silas Ali Agara, to vie for the Governorship position in 2027.

The call was made during a press briefing organized by the coalition’s local government coordinators, held at the Idoma Community Hall, Dadin Kowa, Keffi, today being Tuesday.

Two years ahead of the general elections, various groups, associations, organizations, and individuals continue to agitate for their preferred politicians to join the contest for the Governorship position in Nasarawa State.

The latest development is the Coalition of Nasarawa State Youths under the umbrella of the Nasarawa Patriotic Youth Alliance (NAPYA), Nasarawa West Senatorial District, who converged at the Idoma Community Hall, Keffi, to call on former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State and Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Silas Agara, to contest for the Governorship position in 2027.

Mallam Abubakar Hamza, Keffi LGA Coordinator of the coalition, read the press statement, stating that the youths believe Agara is the ideal candidate due to his impressive credentials in governance, leadership, and community service.

He highlighted Agara’s pragmatic leadership, youth empowerment initiatives, and contributions to the state’s development since 2003.

“As a pragmatic leader who has served Nasarawa State and Nigeria since 2003, Agara possesses the necessary qualities to lead the state to greater heights.

“As a role model for the youth constituency in Nasarawa State, Dr. Silas Agara has championed remarkable youth empowerment initiatives, placing many young people in leadership positions, providing economic empowerment, and facilitating higher educational attainment”

The coalition cited Agara’s track record as an astute administrator, contributing to the successes of various administrations in Nasarawa State, and his positive impact on the sporting sector and job creation.

They also praised his leadership at the NDE, which has provided modern skills and jobs for thousands of Nigerian youths through the Renewed Hope initiative.

“Furthermore, his leadership at the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has brought about positive reforms, providing modern skills and jobs for thousands of Nigerian youths through the Renewed Hope youth empowerment initiative”.

The coalition noted that Agara’s approach to politics and governance is devoid of ethnic and religious considerations, demonstrated by his fair distribution of resources and empowerment across all faiths and creeds.

They appealed to Agara to join the 2027 Governorship race, citing his credentials and achievements in humanitarian service.
