There is a well-known adage that says, “Charity begins at home.” For the Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engineer Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, this saying is more than just words—it is a guiding principle that has defined his life and work.

Alhaji Dauda Aliyu, former chairman of Kogi local government and spokesperson for the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), led a delegation of executives to Bashir Gegu’s residence to recognize and appreciate his outstanding accomplishments in the area.

Aliyu highlighted the numerous achievements of the Union under the leadership of Engineer Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu in his role as Commissioner representing Kogi LG at the State Executive Council.

He expressed confidence that the Union will continue to support the APC-led administration under the leadership of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State.

Furthermore, the Union members unanimously agreed to back the Ododo Season 2 Project slated for 2027, praying for its success, Inshallah.

According to the former Chairman, the solidarity underscores the strong partnership between the Union and the current government, reflecting a shared commitment to the development and progress of Kogi LGA and State in general.

Responding, Engineer Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, the pioneer Commissioner of the Ministry of Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) for the recognition bestowed upon him.
