Dr. Femi Fashagba, the Provost of Kogi State College of Education (KSCOE), Ankpa, has led a significant Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative that has resulted in a transformative educational opportunity for underprivileged students. As part of this initiative, Asiwaju Prince Olusoji Olatunji Basorun Akinjagunla of Ogidi kingdom, a respected philanthropist and entrepreneur, awarded three-year scholarships to 100 indigent students to study at KSCOE, Ankpa. This collaboration exemplifies the positive impact of PPPs in education, helping to improve access and support for disadvantaged students.
PPPs in education generally involve collaborations between government entities and private sector partners to enhance educational infrastructure, increase enrollment, and improve teaching and learning conditions. Such partnerships have been shown to increase motivation among students and teachers and address challenges like inadequate financing and infrastructure. Dr. Fashagba’s leadership at KSCOE also emphasizes academic excellence and welfare for staff and students, further supporting the success of this initiative.
The PPP led by Dr. Fashagba and supported by Prince Akinjagunla provides a crucial scholarship opportunity that helps bridge educational gaps for indigent students in Kogi State, demonstrating the potential of public-private collaboration in advancing education.
The scholarship package will fully cover tuition and other academic-related expenses for selected students across Kogi state, pursuing teacher education at KSCOE. Ankpa.
This initiative aims to remove financial barriers to higher education for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Entire Okun race and by extension Kogi at large is proud of your detribalised approach to youth empowerment.
No wonder, the Leader himself, GYB sounded it loud in Ogidi day, that in due season, you will hear from the state. The Provost on behalf of the college and the students is saying “Agba”.
