Ghali Isma’il, a 29-year-old TikToker from Jogana village in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, has been remanded at the Keffi Correctional Centre in Nasarawa State by a Chief Magistrate Court in Abuja.
This followed his arrest by the Department of State Services (DSS) for posting false videos on his verified TikTok handle @bola_asiwaju.
In these videos, he falsely claimed that President Bola Tinubu was critically ill after being poisoned through his meal and had died.
The court, presided over by Magistrate Ekpeyong Iyang, denied his bail application and ordered his remand, with the matter adjourned to August 19, 2025
He was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) and arraigned on two charges: publication of false news with intent to cause public alarm and inciting disaffection against the government.
His bail application was denied, and the case was adjourned until August 19, 2025.

This legal action follows the circulation of a video on Isma’il’s verified TikTok account making the false claims, which authorities say was intended to disturb public peace and generate contempt against President Tinubu.
