Isoko National Youth Assembly to Host Civic Dialogue on Governance and Energy Reforms
The Isoko National Youth Assembly (INYA), Worldwide has announced plans for a public engagement on Thursday, August 14, in Ozoro, aimed at addressing governance, energy challenges, and petroleum industry reforms.
According to a statement jointly signed by INYA President, Comrade Eniwake Orogun, and Secretary General, Governor Emumena, the event will bring together stakeholders, youth leaders, and members of the public to deliberate on pressing issues with a focus on political leadership, electricity shortages, and legislative reforms.
The discussions will examine President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s two years in office and their impact on the Isoko people, as well as Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s contributions during his two years in office. Participants will also assess the progress and challenges in implementing the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and explore solutions to the persistent electricity shortages in Isoko communities.
Comrade Orogun noted that as one of the largest onshore crude oil-producing ethnic nationalities in Nigeria, generating substantial revenue for Delta State and the nation, the Isoko people must actively engage in constructive conversations that shape their future.
The outcomes of the deliberations will be compiled into a formal position paper for submission to both state and federal governments, as part of efforts to promote a more prosperous Isoko Nation and Delta State.
The event will hold at the Isoko Youth House (Fred Obe Secretariat), Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area, starting at 11:00 a.m. prompt.
