Nasarawa Speaker advocates for moral values and discipline in younger generation, donates car to Boys’ Brigade
Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau Ph.D, Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has urged leaders across the country to instill moral values and discipline in the younger generation as a foundation for societal development and harmony.
This call was made during the 2025 Annual Fellowship Camp of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Nasarawa State Council, held at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Keffi LGA.
Speaker Jatau has been an advocate for protecting children’s rights and promoting their education and moral training to build a better and more harmonious society.
He emphasized the importance of collective responsibility among parents, guardians, and government to ensure children receive moral values alongside education to foster peace, unity, and societal progress.
It would be reported that the camp had about 3, 250 youths of Boys Brigade Nigeria participating and are undergoing training on moral values, discipline and leadership.
Dr. Jatau said that inculcation of moral values and discipline on the younger generation would not only promote peace, unity but would also enhance development in the country.
He commended the officials of the organization for the training of the younger generation and called for its sustenance.
” My presence here is to encourage you and urge you to continue to be good ambassadors of Christ whenever you found yourselves.
” I want to appreciate the officials of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria for taken your time to train the younger ones to be discipline.
” If every one will inculcate moral values on the younger generation, the society will be better for it” he said.
The Speaker also appreciated Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his all inclusive leadership in the State.
” His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule does not have religious bias, that is why there is peace, unity and speedy development in the State” he said.
Speaker Jatau further thanked Boys’ Brigade Nigeria for calling on Gov. Sule, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, the State Deputy Governor and himself to offer themselves to serve in various capacities in 2027 elections.
The Speaker, then donated a car to the organization for its smooth operations and activities.
” The donation is to show my appreciation so that you can perform your duties very well and you will not have some difficulties” he added.
Jatau prayed God to guide, protect and bless members of the organization.
Earlier, Mr Akolo Success Ahmed, the Nasarawa State President of the Association said that the Boys’ Brigade was not just a youth organization but it is a movement of discipline, character- building and service.
” Our mission is to instil the fear of God in young men, raising them as responsible citizens who will stand as lights in their families , communities and our society at large.
” By the Grace of God, the Boys’ Brigade in Nasarawa State has continued to produce men and women of integrity, who contributed positively in different spheres of life,” he said.
The organization President appealed for mobility, Secretariat, land for Agricultural project and Campground.
He called on Gov. Sule, Dr Akabe, the State Deputy Governor to offer themselves for the calls of the people to contest for Nasarawa North and Nasarawa South Senatorial Districts respectively in 2027.
Akolo, a former Executive Chairman of Nasarawa Eggon LGA also called on Speaker Jatau to answer his peoples calls to vie for the position of House of Representatives for Keffi/Karu/Kokona Federal Constituency in 2027.
It would be reported that the event had in attendance the representative of Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa, the Emir of Keffi Alhaji Usman Lawal, Makaman Keffi and Special Adviser to Gov. Sule on Christian Religion.
Others are Amb. Isaac Kigbu, APC Aspirant for Lafia/ObI federal constituency, clerics among other personalities and well wishers.
