Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State, has expressed satisfaction with the progress of the renovation work at the institution’s administrative block. The renovation aims to enhance effective service delivery within the polytechnic.

He pointed out that the target is to reposition the institution for superior educational standards and service delivery under the current governing council leadership, which is vigorously working towards the institution’s development in line with national educational agendas.

Balarabe also commended the innovative design of the renovations of the Rector, Council Chamber and Assistant Rector’s offices, thereby reaffirming his commitment to ensuring the Institution receives the highest standard, aligned with international best practices.

Balarabe, the former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, expressed satisfaction with the ongoing renovation of the institution’s administrative block during his inspection on Wednesday.

According to a statement by Muhammad Nura Nguru, Head of Information and Public Relations, Balarabe commended the Rector, Dr. Ibrahim Bello Bashir, for his proactive efforts and encouraged him to maintain the same spirit moving forward.

Balarabe Abdullahi called for more collaborative efforts among key actors in the education sector to achieve Federal Government Blue Print aimed at transforming the sector.

The Council Chairman acknowledged the significance of the project in enhancing the institution’s infrastructural development and improve service delivery.

He assured that the Governing Council under his leadership will continue to give the management of the institution all the necessary support and positive advice to succeed for the betterment of the education sector.

Balarabe called on Nigerians to continue to pray and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to succeed.

Also speaking, the Rector of the Institution, Dr. Ibrahim Bello Bashir appreciated the Governing Council for the inspection and support at all times.

The Rector provided insights into the renovation project, which is being executed in two phases.

He said that phase one of the project is underway and focuses on upgrading the Rector’s office, Council Chamber and the office of the Assistant’s Rector which includes plans for an expanded waiting area and additional toilets among others.

The Rector announced that phase two of the project will commence soon just as he directed the institution’s Works Department to make submissions on targeting renovations in the Registry, Bursary, and Audit departments for further necessary action.

It would be reported that Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi was accompanied during the inspection by other council members, including Hon. Mustapha Shehu Zirami, Prof. Ebenezer Akinnawo, Abdullahi Hamza, Kaltum Zirami, Muhammed Tokollee Nasir and Dr. Lawan Cheri respectively.

The inspection also had in attendance some management members of the Institution such as Bursar Ismail Muhammad, Registrar Muazu Aliyu Ilyasu and Special Assistant to the Rector Suleiman Zubair Abdullahi among others.
