No plans to hijack Delta APC, Oborevwori incharge -Oghenesivbe

…Urges Ofobruku to work with stakeholders, shun divisive statements

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Director General of Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has assured that there are no plans by defectors to hijack Delta APC as alleged by a former lawmaker, Hon Efe Ofobruku.

Dr Oghenesivbe, in a statement on Wednesday, described Ofobruku’s outburst as unfounded, misleading and a divisive political statement, saying that such spurious allegation on national television ought not to emanate from a former lawmaker in the state.

He said Elder Omene Sobotie has been, and remains the state party Chairman, while other positions are being occupied by those holding various party positions before Governor Sheriff Oborevwori led the entire structure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the APC in April, this year.

He said governor Oborevwori as the leader of Delta APC has been working harmoniously with stakeholders across board, and would continue to do so with all sincerity of purpose, noting that the party has become bigger, stronger and more focused to garner landslide victory for President Bola Tinubu, the governor and all candidates of the party in the next general elections in Delta State.

The Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, assured that there are no signs of hijack, and there would be no need for hijacking, noting that over ninety five percent of party members and supporters in the state are happy with the leadership under governor Oborevwori.

He appealed to Hon Ofobruku to of necessity align himself with the expanded APC family in the state, work with the State Party Chairman and other stakeholders, and avoid making divisive political statements.

The Bureau Chief stated emphatically that Delta APC is vibrant, organized and well coordinated with no foreseeable signs of implosion before and after 2027 general elections.

“It is not true that some persons are trying to hijack Delta APC as erroneously alleged by Hon Efe Ofobruku. The party is now one big and united family under the leadership of the state governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, JP.

“Hon Ofobruku allegation is grossly unfounded, laughable, and he should of necessity embrace reality, and align himself with the expanded APC family in the state.

“Delta APC is on course and ready for landslide victory in the forthcoming general elections. All hands must be on deck to further grow the party through the ongoing online membership registration exercise.

“Elder Omene Sobotie has been the state party chairman before the political Exodus into the APC , and he’s still on duty as the state chairman. Those holding party positions from ward to state levels are on duty till the next party convention.

“Elder Sobotie is a pleasant personality, a perfect gentleman with an unblemished reputation, and he’s on the same page with our leader and governor, Rt Hon Oborevwori.

“Nobody will hijack Delta APC as alleged by our brother and party member, Hon Efe Ofobruku,” Oghenesivbe assured.
