The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, Saturday received an unprecedented welcome from his constituents in Bassa District of Kokona Local Government Area.
This warm reception included a strong endorsement for him to contest for the House of Representatives seat.
His triumphant entry to the community was marked by appreciations, celebrations, and affirmations of support from his people.
The event showcase his strong influence and the trust his constituents have in his leadership as he prepares to seek this higher political office
Speaker Jatau, a prominent political leader representing Kokona West Constituency, was warmly welcomed by his people, the Eggon community, who came out in large numbers from several villages including Anguwan Jalla, Anguwan Mailafiya, Jankanwa, Kandere Mada, and Bassa respectively.
The community converged at Ukeh Village of Bassa District, a strategic location regarded as the root and origin of the Eggon people in Kokona West, where important community decisions and blessings are made.
During this gathering, the Ukeh Village head, Alh. Ibrahim Usman residents informed the Speaker of their invitation’s purpose, which was to encourage him to contest for the seat of the House of Representatives in the upcoming 2027 elections.
According to him, that was the same ground the people gathered and directed him as their son to contest for the State Assembly seat previously which by God’s grace led to his success and that process is still being followed.
The event included participation from Eggon elders under the Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA) and the youth wing, reflecting wide community support.
Ukeh village holds particular cultural and political importance, making this reception an important show of endorsement and solidarity for Dr. Jatau from his kinsmen and constituents.
Dr. Danladi Jatau holds several traditional titles including Garkuwan Eggon worldwide, and he is currently serving his third term as a member representing Kokona West constituency.
On their parts, Jonathan Anzega the leader of the elders and Hon. Maikasuwa Audu the youth leader appreciated the Speaker for the good things he is doing for his people and the quality leadership is providing at the State Assembly and encouraged him to sustain the gesture.
They assured him of mobilizing full support for him to succeed in the 2027 contest for the House of Representatives for Keffi/Karu/Kokona.

The people unanimously endorsed the Speaker Dr. Danladi Jatau to contest for the position of House of Representatives for Keffi/Karu/Kokona federal constituency where the Speaker appreciated them for the confidence reposed on him assuring them that when the time is right he will definitely answer their calls.
“I want to urge you to start consultations, mobilization and wooing other people from the other two LGAs to support us on this project because it is not only us that will decide the votes to win House of Representatives for KKK” He said.
The Speaker used the occasion to appreciate Gov. Abdullahi Sule for the good things he is doing for people of the State and called on his people to give him all the needed support to succeed.
Speaker Jatau informed his people that Gov. Abdullahi Sule will construct Amba-Bassa Road before the end of his tenure.
During the home coming, the Speaker also used the visit to commissioned Two classroom block and an office he build in GSS Bassa and commissioned two boreholes out of the over 30 boreholes he sank across his constituency as well as made a symbolic donation and presentation of a motorcycle out of many motorcycles and tricycles is giving out.
He equally doled out cash donations to various groups to include elders, youths, Jatau Gida Gida political group and Jatau Riders mobilization group among others.
