Oluchi Oparah commends Sen. Abaribe’s courageous speech, demands accountability at National Assembly
….. Urge lawmakers to prioritize Nigeria’s interest
By Yahaya Idris, Abuja
Former Labour Party National Treasurer, Mrs. Oluchi Oparah, has praised Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe for his courageous speech at the National Assembly on Wednesday, where he spoke truth to power regarding the current state of the nation. She hailed his boldness in addressing critical national issues in a public and political forum.

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, a prominent Nigerian politician representing Abia South, is known for his outspoken stance on governance and national issues.
In his recent address, he called on the government and leaders to do the right thing for Nigeria’s progress, emphasizing justice, fairness, and accountability.
Abaribe’s speech has attracted attention due to his passionate call for leadership to rise above politics and act in the country’s best interest.
In reaction, Mrs. Oparah, appreciated Abaribe’s role in challenging the current administration and highlighting the challenges faced by Nigeria.
Below is her statement:
I watched with deep satisfaction as Distinguished Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, during yesterday’s sitting at the National Assembly, spoke truth to power without fear or favour regarding the current state of the nation. With a voice steady and courageous, he addressed the pressing issues affecting Nigerians, even when his words did not sit well with some of his colleagues.
All elected members of the National Assembly must emulate this courage and stand firm whenever necessary, especially as millions of Nigerians continue to face untold hardships due to unchecked terrorist activities and the government’s inability to effectively halt their operations. At a time like this, the people need leaders who will speak boldly, defend justice, and address the root causes of our collective suffering.
Abaribe faulted the continuous habit of shifting blame to past administrations, stressing that the challenges confronting Nigerians today are unfolding under the watch of the present government. True leadership, he reminded them, requires taking responsibility, looking inward, and directing energy toward meaningful solutions rather than recycling excuses.
In the face of widespread corruption, rising insecurity, and severe economic hardship, Abaribe’s voice reminded both the Senate and the nation that accountability remains the bedrock of progress. His intervention renewed the hopes of many Nigerians who have long yearned for leaders that speak boldly and act decisively.

As the nation grapples with persistent challenges, I pray that both the Red and Green Chambers rise to the occasion and confront head-on the menace undermining our peace, unity, and development.
The courageous stance of Senator Abaribe and a few others serves as a powerful reminder that integrity still has a place in our politics. Their voices echo the expectations of countless Nigerians who believe that the time for sincere and responsible governance is now.
