Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has distributed over 1,000 bags of rice and N20,000 cash to more than 600 residents across 11 electoral wards in Kokona Local Government Area, spending about N30 million to ensure a joyful Christmas.

The empowerment exercise, held at his Garaku residence, targeted constituents from various groups, including widows, religious bodies, and residents from all wards, as part of his annual commitment to improve living standards in Kokona LGA.

“I have distributed 1,000 bags of rice and N20,000 each to so many people… in all, I spent about N30 million,” Jatau said.

“This is to enable you celebrate Christmas with joy. By God’s grace, I will continue to initiate policies and programmes that will change your lives positively.”

The Speaker praised his colleague, Hon. Daniel Oga Ogazi (Kokona East), urging an end to rumours and emphasizing their unity:

Speaker Jatau appreciated the people of his constituency and Kokona LG for their continued prayers to him and Hon. Daniel Oga Ogazi, member representing Kokona East constituency at the state legislature.

” Me and my younger brother Hon. Daniel Ogazi are working together, we have good working relationship and we don’t have any problem or issues with ourselves.

” I want to urge those carrying gossip and rumor to desist, instead they should preach peace and unity among us, because we are one, as power comes from God,” he said.

Jatau announced that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would conduct its state congresses by February 2026 via consensus, with no direct elections. “If you’ve spent eight years in a position, you’re not eligible for the same role but can contest others,” he explained, crediting Kokona’s position rotation for fostering peace and development.

He received 106 defectors from SDP, PDP, and other parties into APC, assuring them equal rights.

APC Kokona LGA Chairman, Mr. Terry Bados, thanked Jatau and urged e-registration for new members to participate in elections.

Jatau rallied support for Governor Abdullahi Sule’s “developmental strides,” predicting: “By God’s grace, he will hand over to another APC governor in 2027.”

He plans to reveal his stance on the Keffi/Karu/Kokona federal constituency seat in 2026.

The event underscores Jatau’s ongoing constituency interventions ahead of the festive season.
