Nasarawa State comprises three senatorial districts with the following federal constituencies and governorship history:

Nasarawa North Senatorial District (Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency): Represented by incumbent Governor Abdullahi Sule (2019–present, expected to end in 2027)

Nasarawa South Senatorial District comprise 5 LGAs, Lafia, Doma, Keana, Awe and Obi, with two federal constituencies): Late Akwe Doma from 2007 – 2011 and Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura served from 2011-2019

Nasarawa West Senatorial District wth 5 LGAs across two federal constituencies: Idris highlighted that while Nasarawa West (Keffi/Karu/Kokona federalconstituency) have produced Governor, under Senator AbdullahiAdamu’s era, the Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency in Nasarawa West remains unrepresented at that level.

He framed this as an opportunity for deliberate rotation to address gaps and promote unity. “The core issue is preventing any federal constituency from being sidelined indefinitely,” Idris stated.
