Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo made the bold prediction while speaking to journalists in Lokoja, the state capital. He insisted that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) should begin preparing its handover notes.
Gambo said the PDP was working tirelessly not only in Kogi but also towards capturing Aso Rock, the seat of Nigeria’s presidency. He highlighted the party’s robust structures across the state and the country.
“Kogi is a PDP state,”Gambo asserted, pointing to the party’s history of governance in the state as a period of prosperity. He claimed residents were eager for its return after years under APC rule.
In a direct message to Kogi residents, the chairman urged them to remain faithful to the PDP, stay peaceful, and support security efforts. “2027 is our time, no retreat, no surrender,” he declared.
Gambo emphasised the PDP’s enduring presence statewide. “Kogi State is a PDP state. Our structure is still everywhere in the state. If you blow the whistle any day, anytime, in a free and fair election, the PDP will win landslide,” he said.
He reiterated that 2027 marked the end of APC’s tenure at Lugard House. “Let me say that the time for the APC government to pack her load from Lugard House is 2027 and it is a call for no retreat, no surrender,” Mr Gambo stated.
The chairman expressed confidence in the electorate’s determination. He said citizens of Kogi State had resolved to vote for the PDP in 2027, paving the way for a decisive party victory.
Gambo appealed for unity and focus. “My appeal to Kogi people is to remain faithful and supportive of the PDP. Let’s remain calm and focused. This is not a time for distraction. Let’s be peaceful and law abiding,” he told reporters.
He acknowledged the state’s insecurity challenges, describing them as overwhelming. The PDP chairman pledged collaboration with authorities, stressing: “There must be a state before political party.”Gambo called on residents to support government strategies against crime.
He concluded by reaffirming the PDP’s inevitable takeover of Lugard House, insisting Kogi had been a PDP stronghold since 1999.
