Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, Tuesday inaugurated the Baraya Vanguard Movement, urging members to uphold party supremacy and avoid actions that could undermine the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
The event held at the Youth Centre in Akwanga Local Government Area of the state, drew APC stakeholders from across Nasarawa, including former National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and several local government chairmen.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, Governor Sule commended members of the Baraya Vanguard Movement for their resilience and commitment to progressive governance.

He said the revival of the movement would bolster grassroots mobilisation and deepen democratic participation in the state’s politics.
“The revival of this platform is aimed at strengthening party cohesion and structure. We must be guided by facts and proper understanding in all our engagements,” the governor stated.
Gov Sule stressed the need to respect party supremacy and constituted authority, clarifying that the gathering was “essentially a corporate meeting of the Baraya Vanguard Movement convened to revitalise its statewide structure” and not a political campaign or rally.
He charged members to redouble efforts in mobilising voters for the ongoing voters’ registration and APC e-registration exercises, adding that party unity remains their biggest asset.
In his remarks, former APC National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, cautioned members against acts capable of tarnishing their image and that of the party.
Chairman of the Baraya Vanguard Movement, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya, said the group draws from diverse religious, tribal and ethnic backgrounds, with the goal of rallying grassroots support for the APC government.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Nasarawa State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Safiyanu Isa Andaha, and zonal coordinators of the movement pledged massive mobilisation of members towards APC’s victory in the 2027 general elections.
