Kogi East APC Chieftain Blasts Sherif, Accuses Him of Hypocrisy, Betrayal

…..Alhaji Rajab says he sacrificed for Sherif’s principal but was abandoned; threatens to expose past secrets

A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Kogi East Senatorial District, Alhaji Rajab Abubakar, has launched an attack on one Sherif, describing him as “a disgrace to himself, his heritage, and the memory of his late father.

“In a statement posted on his Facebookaccount, Alhaji Rajab refuted recent posts by Sherif attacking his personality, revealing deep-seated grievances over unfulfilled promises and alleged betrayals within the party’s hierarchy.

“You are a disgrace to yourself and to your heritage. Ask Mohammed Rokusa to tell you what I did for your late father during his most difficult and frustrating moments,” Alhaji Rajab fired back, insisting he had shouldered burdens for Sherif’s family when “hope was scarce.”

He accused Sherif’s unnamed principal widely believed to be a serving senator of betraying a solemn promise made during his political rise.

“He once said to me, ‘Abubakar, you have served me, and you have sacrificed your resources to build my political career; I will ensure that I build you back.’ Today, I ask, was that promise fulfilled?” Alhaji Rajab queried.

The APC stalwart dismissed claims about his brief stint in a Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) role, which came with a ₦320,000 monthly salary. “What I spent daily in that office to resolve the problems of his supporters often exceeded my entire monthly earnings. What I expended during empowerment exercises cannot be easily quantified,” he stated, adding that Sherif was often at the center of the ensuing chaos due to “rudeness, lack of courtesy, and absence of basic manners.”

Alhaji Rajab explained he was drafted into the office to fix “institutional lapses” but withdrew after resistance to reforms. “What I spent in less than two years surpasses what my salary would have amounted to in thirty years. I was never there because of SLA,” he emphasized.

On allegations of not supporting Governor Yahaya Bello (GYB), the chieftain recounted his pivotal role in rallying support. “I was among the first to accept his emergence as the will of Allah… I was the one who convinced your boss to support Bello’s administration,” he said, detailing negotiations for a Senate ticket with figures like Ahmed Attah and Edward Onoja.

“Where were you, Sherif, during these defining political struggles?” he challenged, invoking proverbs: “He who fetches water must not be forgotten when the well is full,” and “a masquerade is known by those who prepared it.”

Alhaji Rajab vowed unwavering loyalty to former Governor Bello, dismissing attempts to sow discord. “GYB is my man anytime, anywhere… Time, as always, will separate truth from convenience,” he concluded, leaving final judgment to Allah.
