Maikaya Explains Sule’s Backing of Wadada, Urges Stakeholders to Rally Behind APC

Prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and governorship aspirant, Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya, has explained the rationale behind Governor Abdullahi Sule’s decision to publicly support Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada for the 2027 governorship race, urging party stakeholders to remain united and place the interests of the APC above individual ambitions.
Speaking while addressing party supporters and stakeholders, Maikaya described Governor Sule’s position as a political decision made in his capacity as the leader of the APC in Nasarawa State.
He stressed that every political leader has the constitutional right to express personal preferences within the democratic process, while emphasizing that party unity must remain paramount.
Maikaya Calls for Respect for Party Leadership
According to Maikaya, Governor Sule’s endorsement of Senator Wadada should not be viewed as a source of division within the party but rather as part of the ongoing political consultation ahead of the APC’s primary election.
He urged party members to respect the governor’s position while remaining committed to the party’s internal democratic processes.
Maikaya noted that the APC has established mechanisms for selecting candidates and expressed confidence that those processes would ultimately determine the party’s flag bearer.

The APC stalwart appealed to stakeholders, supporters and party faithful across Nasarawa State to avoid actions capable of creating unnecessary tension within the ruling party.

According to him, political disagreements should never override the collective objective of strengthening the party.

Maikaya reiterated his loyalty to the APC and its leadership, maintaining that his political ambition has always been guided by the desire to serve the people of Nasarawa State within the framework of the party.
He encouraged his supporters to remain calm, law-abiding and committed to the APC regardless of differing political opinions.
The governorship aspirant said loyalty to the party should always take precedence over personal interests.

Maikaya expressed confidence in the APC’s internal democratic structures, saying the party has the capacity to conduct a transparent and credible process that reflects the wishes of its members.
