By Yahaya Idris

The newly elected National Organizing Secretary of the Labour Party Nigeria, Mrs. Oluchi Oparah, has extended warm greetings to members of the party, supporters, and the general public following her emergence at the party’s National Convention held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in Umuahia, Abia State.

In a statement issued after the convention, Oparah said she was honoured to have been elected into the key national position, describing it as a renewed call to service at a critical stage in Nigeria’s democratic development.

Her emergence comes after her previous tenure as the National Treasurer of the party, a role in which she contributed to strengthening the party’s administrative and financial structures.

She expressed profound gratitude to the party leadership, delegates, and stakeholders across the federation for the confidence reposed in her.

According to her, the mandate entrusted to her is not a personal victory but a collective responsibility aimed at strengthening party structures, deepening internal democracy, and repositioning the Labour Party for greater national relevance.

“As National Organizing Secretary, I am fully committed to building a more united, disciplined, and vibrant party, one that truly reflects the aspirations of the Nigerian people,” she stated.

Oparah also called on party members and supporters nationwide to remain steadfast, committed, and actively engaged in the task of advancing what she described as a just, inclusive, and people-oriented political movement.

She congratulated all members of the party on the successful convention and expressed confidence that the Labour Party would continue to grow stronger through unity and dedication.

“The task ahead is clear, and together, we will succeed,” she added.

She concluded by praying for God’s blessings upon the Labour Party.
