Historic ROI Honour Celebrates Oborevwori’s Legacy of Unity, Development — Bureau DG
The Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr (Barr) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has congratulated Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on the conferment of the prestigious Royal Order of Iwere (ROI) by the Olu of Warri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, describing the honour as a strong endorsement of the governor’s inclusive leadership and development-driven administration.
In a congratulatory message issued on Monday, Dr Oghenesivbe noted that the conferment of the revered traditional honour on Governor Oborevwori, as the first non-Itsekiri recipient of the title, marks a historic moment in Delta State and reflects the governor’s growing acceptance across ethnic, political, and regional divides.
He stated that Governor Oborevwori has continued to redefine governance in the state through the implementation of the MORE Agenda, which has accelerated infrastructure renewal, expanded road connectivity, strengthened rural and riverine development, and improved socioeconomic opportunities across the three senatorial districts.
According to the Bureau DG, the visible transformation in previously neglected communities, particularly in Delta South riverine areas, has reinforced public confidence in the governor’s vision of equitable development, peace, unity, and shared prosperity for all Deltans, irrespective of ethnic background or political affiliation.
“The Royal Order of Iwere conferred on His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, is not only historic but richly deserved. It is a recognition of a governor whose leadership continues to unite people, inspire confidence, and expand the frontiers of development across Delta State,” Dr Oghenesivbe stated.
He further noted that the growing wave of goodwill, endorsements, and cross-party acceptance trailing Governor Oborevwori’s administration demonstrates that Deltans increasingly value continuity, stability, and purposeful leadership anchored on tangible development and inclusive governance.
Dr Oghenesivbe prayed for greater wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for Governor Oborevwori as he continues to consolidate on the achievements of his administration and deepen democratic dividends for the benefit of present and future generations of Deltans.
