Abia State African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election and Nollywood actress, Doris Ogala, has drawn public attention after reportedly settling the medical bills of several patients during her stay at a hospital.
Ogala, who was recently hospitalized and underwent surgery, was said to have moved around the hospital ward in a wheelchair despite her weak condition, offering financial assistance to patients unable to pay their bills.
According to her, the gesture was inspired by divine instruction while she was recovering from surgery.
“The day I lost consciousness and was rushed to the hospital, I heard the voice of God clearly,” she said. “I was placed on a wheelchair because I was weak and in pain due to my recent surgery. I am deeply grateful that God found me worthy to assist these individuals in settling their hospital bills.”
She noted that many of the beneficiaries had remained in the hospital because they could not afford to pay for treatment.
“Thank You, Jesus. Thank You, Lord. I give You all the glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen,” she added.
Ogala has recently become more active in political advocacy. She was among protesters in Abuja demanding the release of AAC presidential candidate and “Sahara Reporters” publisher, Omoyele Sowore.
Sowore is currently being held at Kuje Correctional Centre following charges linked to his remarks describing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a criminal.
Supporters of Ogala have continued to promote her political ambition ahead of the 2027 governorship election, describing her as a strong contender for leadership in Abia State.
