2027: Cleric Predicts Yahaya Bello Will Replace Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Senate

By Our Correspondent

The Coordinator of Bridging the Gap, Pastor Innocent Ihiovi, has criticised the Senator representing Kogi Central, Senator Natasha Hadiza Akpoti-Uduaghan, declaring that former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello, is destined to succeed her in the Senate.

Speaking during an interview, the cleric expressed confidence that Bello, who completed his tenure as governor of Kogi State in January 2024, would eventually represent Kogi Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

Pastor Ihiovi described Bello as a political figure with enduring influence in Kogi State, arguing that the former governor remains widely accepted by many people across the state.

He further criticised Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s style of politics, alleging that her approach had generated unnecessary political tension in Kogi Central and Nigeria in general.

He maintained that the district would benefit from what he described as more inclusive and unifying leadership.

According to the cleric, Bello possesses the experience and political capacity to provide effective representation for the people of Kogi Central if he decides to contest the senatorial seat in the future.

He called on stakeholders and supporters of the former governor to remain steadfast, expressing optimism that Bello’s political future remains bright.

Global Times Nigeria reports that remarks come amid continued political discussions over the future of Kogi Central ahead of the 2027 general elections, although neither Yahaya Bello nor Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has publicly commented on Pastor Ihiovi’s statement.
