APC National Secretary Hosts Youth Network West Africa DG, Delegation in Osogbo

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Distinguished Senator Ajibola Basiru, has received the Director-General of APC Youth Network West Africa, Hon. Olatunde Gideon Igbasan, and members of the organisation on a courtesy, condolence and birthday visit at his residence in Osogbo, Osun State.
The delegation, which included His Royal Highness Dr. Mayowa Olaide Ajose, the Alaye of Dome-Kwabenya, Accra, Ghana, said the visit was to condole with Senator Basiru over the death of his mother and celebrate his recent birthday.
During the visit, Hon. Igbasan presented a birthday cake to the APC National Secretary and offered prayers for the repose of the late matriarch as well as continued good health and wisdom for the party leader.
Discussions at the meeting centred on party unity, youth mobilisation, grassroots engagement and preparations for the 2027 general elections.
A major highlight of the meeting was the presentation of a proposal seeking the official commissioning of the APC Youth Network West Africa National Headquarters Secretariat in Nigeria.
Responding, Senator Basiru advised the organisation to formally submit the proposal to the party leadership for consideration and assured the delegation of the APC’s support.
The National Secretary commended the Director-General for expanding the APC Youth Network West Africa to 16 countries across the sub-region, describing the decision to establish the organisation’s national headquarters in Nigeria as a patriotic initiative.
Also speaking, Senator Yunus Akintunde applauded the vision of the youth organisation and pledged to promote its activities among party stakeholders, while Hon. Soji Adedeji, an APC deputy governorship aspirant in Osun State, described the network as a platform capable of deepening youth participation in politics and governance.
Senator Basiru expressed confidence in the APC’s readiness for the 2027 general elections, stating that the party had strengthened its internal cohesion and was strategically positioning itself for future electoral success.
In his remarks, Hon. Igbasan thanked Senator Basiru, Senator Akintunde, Hon. Adedeji, HRH Dr. Mayowa Olaide Ajose and other stakeholders for their support.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the APC Youth Network West Africa to youth empowerment, grassroots mobilisation and the promotion of the Renewed Hope Agenda across the West African sub-region.
The APC group further reiterated their commitment to strengthening the APC and expanding youth participation in the party’s activities.
