The Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr. (Barr.) In a statement, the Bureau Director General applauded Governor Oborevwori for providing strategic leadership that has repositioned Delta State as one of Nigeria’s leading sub-national economies.

He noted that the administration’s commitment to responsible governance has created a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth and improved public service delivery.

Dr. Oghenesivbe also commended the Executive Chairman of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service (DSIRS), Hon. (Chief) Solomon Ighrakpata, alongside the Board, management and staff of the agency for their outstanding commitment to revenue administration reforms.

According to him, these initiatives have significantly boosted the state’s revenue generation without placing additional tax burdens on residents.

The Bureau Director General revealed that Delta State’s Internally Generated Revenue increased from approximately ₦84 billion in 2023 to over ₦200 billion within a relatively short period.

He described the achievement as unprecedented, noting that the increased revenue has enhanced the government’s ability to finance critical infrastructure projects and improve service delivery.

According to him, the additional resources are being channelled into key sectors, including:

Healthcare
Education
Agriculture
Security
Industrial development

He said the recognition confirms that Delta State is emerging as a leading example of transparent revenue administration, efficient domestic resource mobilisation and sustainable fiscal governance among Nigeria’s states.

According to Oghenesivbe, Governor Oborevwori’s administration has continued to invest strategically in productive sectors such as agriculture, industrial development and public-private partnerships.

He explained that these investments are broadening Delta State’s economic base, attracting private sector investment, creating employment opportunities and ensuring that the benefits of increased revenue positively impact residents.
