Over 20 Abuja Harmony Lions Club Members Receive CQI Training to Strengthen Leadership, Membership Growth

More than 20 members of the Abuja Harmony Lions Club, including newly elected executive officials, have participated in an intensive Club Quality Initiative (CQI) training designed to strengthen leadership capacity, improve club administration and drive sustainable membership growth.
The one-day capacity-building programme took place on Saturday at Novare Central Mall, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, and was facilitated by Past District Governor, Lion Lynda Odu-Okpeseyi MJF NLCF, alongside Lion Linda Collins NLCF.
The training featured practical sessions on goal setting, strategic planning, prioritising club objectives, effective time management, protocol, and other critical aspects of efficient club administration. Participants also engaged in assessment exercises that culminated in the development of practical and measurable action plans to guide the club’s future activities.
Addressing participants, Lion Lynda Odu-Okpeseyi urged the newly elected executives and members to apply the knowledge acquired during the training to strengthen the club’s impact and overall effectiveness.
She encouraged members to align their programmes with the District Governor’s theme, “Wired for Quality Service,” and the Lions International President’s theme, “Rooted in Service,” noting that both themes provide a roadmap for impactful humanitarian service.
The Past District Governor commended the new executive committee for organising the training and praised members for their enthusiasm, commitment and active participation throughout the programme.
She further encouraged the club to sustain the momentum towards building a stronger, more vibrant and progressive Lions Club while assuring members of her continued support.
Speaking after the training, the President of Abuja Harmony Lions Club, Lion Oluwamuyiwa Olayinka, described the programme as highly impactful and enlightening.
According to him, the training offered a deeper understanding of the club’s operations and would significantly improve leadership effectiveness, administrative processes, project implementation, goal setting and membership development.
He expressed appreciation to the facilitators for delivering practical and engaging sessions that were easy to understand, while also commending members for their active participation.
Olayinka assured members that the resolutions and action plans developed during the training would be fully implemented to improve the club’s overall performance and service delivery.
Also speaking, a standing member of the District Global Leadership Team, Lion Abayomi Ayegbusi MJF NLCF, applauded the leadership of Abuja Harmony Lions Club for prioritising capacity building.
He urged members to ensure that the lessons learned during the training are reflected in the club’s activities and projects, expressing confidence in the club’s continued growth and future success.
The training attracted several Lions Club leaders, including Region 1 Chairperson, Lion Austin Ominiabhos NLCF; Region 2 Chairperson, Lion Peter Patrick NLCF; and Region 1 Zone Chairperson, Lion Maya Clement NLCF, among other distinguished members.
