Education, Character Key to Future Success, Speakers Tell Graduating Pupils in Akwanga

Educationists and school administrators have urged graduating pupils and students of Summit Children Academy and Issachar High School, Akwanga, to embrace education, discipline and good character as essential ingredients for success, advising them not to allow academic challenges to define their future.
The charge was delivered during the combined Speech, Prize-Giving and Graduation Ceremony of the two schools held in Akwanga.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Peter Adoga encouraged the graduating pupils and students to remain focused, determined and resilient in pursuing their dreams despite life’s challenges.
According to him, education remains one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives and building a successful future.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Education Committee of both schools, Dr. Aminu Dodo, urged parents to provide their children with sound moral and spiritual upbringing, describing it as the bedrock of academic excellence and responsible citizenship.
He explained that Issachar High School was established to address gaps in the educational system by offering learners quality academic instruction alongside strong moral values.
Dr. Dodo said the school operates an Accelerated Christian Education (ACE)-based curriculum designed to equip pupils and students with the knowledge, leadership qualities and life skills required to excel in an increasingly competitive world.
He encouraged parents seeking quality education for their children to consider enrolling them in the school, stressing that a combination of academic excellence and character development provides a solid foundation for future success.
Addressing the graduating pupils, the Headmistress of Summit Children Academy, Mrs. Patience Austin Makpa, urged them to remain humble, compassionate and confident in their abilities.
“With the knowledge, truth and spiritual guidance you have acquired during your studies, you can achieve remarkable things if you remain focused and disciplined,” she said.
Mrs. Makpa also expressed appreciation to parents for their confidence in the school and their continued support towards the education and upbringing of their children.
Similarly, the Principal of Issachar High School, Mrs. Charity Dogara, challenged the graduating students to pursue higher education with dedication and determination.
She described the Class of 2026 as “eminent and famous,” attributing their academic success to patience, hard work, knowledge and understanding.
Parents at the event, including Mrs. Sumaiya Mohammed Lawal and Mr. Odeleye Julius, thanked God for witnessing the successful graduation of their children.
They commended the schools for providing a conducive learning environment and quality education, while encouraging other parents to enrol their children in the institutions.
Speaking on behalf of the graduating students, the Head Boy of Summit Children Academy, Abel Kuje, and the overall best graduating student of Issachar High School, Ebube Glory Osita, expressed gratitude to God and their parents for supporting their educational journey.
They acknowledged the sacrifices made by their parents in providing quality education and prayed for God’s continued blessings upon them as they advance to the next phase of their academic pursuits.
The colourful ceremony featured drama performances, reading demonstrations, project presentations by JSS3 students, cultural displays, and the presentation of prizes, certificates and awards to outstanding pupils and graduating students.
The awards were presented by the Headmistress of Summit Children Academy, Mrs. Patience Austin Makpa, and the Principal of Issachar High School, Mrs. Charity Dogara.
The event ended with celebrations as parents, teachers, pupils and students commemorated the achievements of the graduating Class of 2026 and expressed optimism for greater accomplishments in the future.
