…Supports NURTW With ₦2.4m, Motorcycle Union With ₦2.05m, Sponsors 20 Cars, Donates ₦1m to Political Groups

A philanthropist and business tycoon, Engr. Alhaji Aliyu Sulaiman Minner, the Sarkin Samari Gomo Babye of Gadabuke District, has pledged to procure two vehicles to replace those damaged in an accident during Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada’s visit to Umaisha, Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Sulaiman Minner made the pledge while speaking at an empowerment programme organised by Hajiya Maryam Aliyu Wadada, wife of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, where 500 women received ₦50,000 each.
The philanthropist described the empowerment initiative as a commendable demonstration of compassion and commitment to improving the welfare of women and other vulnerable members of society.
He also donated ₦500,000 to support the programme, saying such interventions could help beneficiaries address immediate needs and strengthen their economic activities.
₦4.45m Support for Transport Unions
Speaking on his contributions to the political movement supporting Senator Wadada’s 2027 gubernatorial ambition, Aliyu disclosed that he had donated ₦2.4 million to the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
He added that he had also supported the Motorcycle Union of Nigeria, popularly known as Okada riders, with ₦2.05 million as part of efforts to mobilise and strengthen grassroots stakeholders.
According to him, he has further sponsored 20 vehicles for political mobilisation in support of Senator Wadada and remains prepared to provide additional vehicles as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections intensify.
“Don’t Call Wadada, I’ll Procure Two Vehicles”
Sulaiman Minner also donated ₦1 million to about 10 political groups present at the programme, describing the gesture as his contribution towards sustaining grassroots mobilisation.
He then announced his decision to personally replace the two vehicles damaged in an accident reportedly involving supporters during Senator Wadada’s visit to Umaisha along the Toto–Umaisha Road about two months ago.
“Don’t call Wadada; I will procure two vehicles to replace those damaged in the accident during Senator Wadada’s visit to Umaisha,” he declared.
The Sarkin Samari Gomo Babye said the pledge was motivated by his belief that supporters who make sacrifices for a political cause should not be left alone to bear losses suffered in the course of mobilisation.
Minner Backs Wadada for 2027
Speaking on his political preference, Aliyu described Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as the best option for Nasarawa State ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
He cited Wadada’s leadership experience, accessibility, competence and commitment to the development and wellbeing of the people as reasons for his support.
He assured supporters of the Wadada movement across Toto LGA that he would continue to mobilise resources and collaborate with political stakeholders to build a strong grassroots structure for the senator and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Aliyu also urged supporters to remain united, peaceful and committed to the collective objective of promoting what he described as purposeful leadership and a new political direction for Nasarawa State.
The latest pledge further underscores the growing mobilisation around Senator Wadada’s 2027 gubernatorial ambition in Toto and other parts of Nasarawa State, with grassroots supporters and political groups increasingly positioning themselves ahead of the next general elections.
