Karimi: ‘I Am Not Tired of Serving You’

Senator Sunday Steven Karimi has highlighted a series of constituency interventions, including education, water and infrastructure projects, during a stakeholders’ town hall meeting in Lokoja.
Karimi, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District, addressed a large gathering of APC leaders, stakeholders and supporters from Lokoja/Koton Karfe Federal Constituency as part of his accountability engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The senator thanked members of the constituency for their support during the APC primary election and reiterated his commitment to effective representation.
Water Projects for Lokoja
Karimi announced plans to commence the construction of industrial boreholes in Lokoja.
According to him, the projects are intended to address persistent water shortages affecting residents.
He said the boreholes would be completed within one month.
The senator also disclosed that the renovation of Government Secondary School, Koton Karfe, had been completed and would soon be commissioned.
₦500m for Muslim Community Secondary School
Karimi further announced that N500 million had been provided for the Muslim Community Secondary School in Lokoja.
He said work on the project was expected to commence soon.
The senator also announced plans to award 3,000 scholarships to students across Kogi State, further placing education among the priorities highlighted during the engagement.

The interventions formed part of the issues discussed at the meeting, which attracted a large crowd despite reports of an alleged directive restricting some APC executives from attending.
APC leader Alhaji Sulaiman Baba Ali said the meeting was organised to enable Karimi to give an account of his stewardship to the people.
Former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulrahman Dangana, commended the senator for his constituency interventions, particularly those benefiting communities in Kupa.
Hon. Idris Maikudi, representing Kogi/KotonKarfe State Constituency, also praised Karimi’s performance and cited the construction of an Islamic school in Girinya.
Former Lokoja I State Constituency representative, Alhaji Sulaiman Babadoko, described Karimi as the best senator Kogi West had produced.

Speaking to the gathering, Karimi urged residents to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his senatorial ambition.
“I am not tired of serving you. Therefore, vote for President Tinubu and your senator,” he said.

The senator also commended the President for what he described as efforts to provide employment opportunities and political appointments to people from Kogi West and Kogi State.
He further spoke about federal allocations to local governments, saying councils in Kogi State now receive an average of N500 million monthly from the Federation Account.
The meeting ended with a renewed call for party unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
