The emergence of Olorogun Barr. Arthur Akpowowo and Hon. Felix Ejovwoke Erhimedafe as All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the 2027 Delta State House of Assembly elections has been described as an opportunity for improved representation in Ethiope East and Abraka constituencies.
The Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari, made the assessment while congratulating the two candidates on their emergence.
Akpowowo secured the APC ticket for Ethiope East State Constituency, while Erhimedafe emerged as the party’s candidate for Abraka State Constituency.
Candidates Described as Grassroots Leaders
Tonukari said the emergence of both candidates reflected their grassroots acceptance, leadership qualities and commitment to public service.
He urged APC members and stakeholders in the two constituencies to unite behind the candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, political unity within the party would help strengthen the APC’s campaign and electoral prospects.
Tonukari Seeks Effective Legislation
The commissioner said the people of Ethiope East and Abraka deserved representatives who would prioritise legislation and constituency development.
He expressed confidence that the APC candidates could provide effective representation if given the mandate by voters.
Tonukari wished Akpowowo and Erhimedafe success in the general election and called on voters to support the APC at the polls.
The 2027 Delta State House of Assembly election is expected to generate increased political activity as parties and candidates begin preparations for the general elections.
