The Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Aisha Ahmed Aliyu, former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, and some state lawmakers have called on parents to give greater attention to the religious and moral upbringing of their children.
They made the call on Sunday at the Third Edition and Graduation Ceremony of the Qur’anic Memorization students of Madrasatu Darul Quranil Karim Lafia, held at the school premises in Project Quarters, Lafia.https://
The prominent personalities said proper religious education and sound moral upbringing remained essential in producing responsible citizens and building an egalitarian society.

Justice Aisha Ahmed Aliyu, Balarabe Abdullahi, Hon. Muhammad Garba Isimbabi and Hon. Muhammad Adamu Omadefu expressed concern over what they described as the declining commitment of some parents to the religious education of their children.
According to them, inadequate religious and moral foundation among young people could contribute to moral decadence and other social challenges confronting society.
They therefore urged parents to brace up and take greater responsibility for instilling discipline, good values and religious knowledge in their children.
The speakers also congratulated the graduating 6students, urging them to continue pursuing knowledge and remain committed to their religious education.
The ceremony attracted dignitaries from government, politics, education and other sectors.6
A total of 10 students graduated from the Qur’anic memorization programme, including two daughters of the former Speaker, Amina Ibrahim Balarabe and Halima Ibrahim Balarabe.
The event also featured the presentation of certificates and awards of recognition, Qur’anic recitation and memorization, prizes and goodwill messages.
Speakers at the event disclosed that Madrasatu Darul Quranil Karim, which commenced operations 11 years ago with only two students, has grown to accommodate more than 200 students.

Among those who attended were the member representing Uke/Karshe Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Musa Saidu Gude; the Rector of Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia, Barr. Imam Zanwa; Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa; politicians, government officials, academics, parents and other stakeholders.
