Executive Assistant to Delta State Governor on Public Enlightenment (Projects and Policies), Olisa Ifeajika, has described Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as a “good product” whose performance is already generating support ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ifeajika made the statement while speaking on News Central Television’s Politics HQ.
He said the governor’s achievements, rather than party loyalty alone, would be the major basis for the campaign to return him to office.
“The performance of our governor speaks for itself. Everybody is applauding what the man is doing in the state,” he said.
Ifeajika argued that even without the APC platform, Oborevwori would still command significant electoral support because of his performance.
Tinubu Re-election Support Not Contradictory
The governor’s aide also dismissed suggestions that Oborevwori’s declaration of support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election could conflict with his own 2027 governorship ambition.
He said both political objectives were compatible because Oborevwori is now an APC member.
“He is an APC man, so he will talk about the President of Nigeria, who is of the same party with him, being re-elected,” he said.
Economic Hardship Will Take Time to Ease
Speaking on the economy, Ifeajika acknowledged the hardship Nigerians are experiencing following the removal of fuel subsidy.
However, he argued that the reform should be viewed as part of a longer economic process.
Using farming as an analogy, he said clearing land, planting and weeding must take place before the farmer can harvest.

He also argued that the increase in funds available to states has improved their ability to pay workers and pensioners.
Focus on Citizens’ Welfare
Despite defending the reforms, Ifeajika said governments must ensure that available resources translate into tangible benefits for ordinary Nigerians.
He said the key question should be how governments deploy increased revenues to improve living conditions.
