Ex-Commissioner for Industry, Henry Okoh joins Abia’s central senatorial race, promises effective representation.

Chief Henry Okoh, the immediate past Commissioner for Industry and Technology in Abia State, declared his interest to vie the Abia Central Senatorial seat in the coming 2023 general election on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Chief Okoh who made this known at his country home Ahuwa Oboro in Ikwuano local government area of Abia State while addressing members of his Campaign organization, also disclosed that he was moved to contest the seat because of his desire to offer quality service to the people of the Abia central senatorial zone.

The renowned industrialist added that he had brought industries and development to the grassroots, assuring that if allowed to serve at the upper legislative assembly will propel him to attract the much-desired development from the federal government to the zone.

According to him, “I will ensure the rehabilitation of Umuahia-Ikwuano-Ikot Ekpene road immediately I’m sworn in as a Senator. My representation will be hinged on attracting development. My representation will turn things around and change the development narrative of not only Abia central but the entire Abia state.

The only fear that he may be forced to step down for another aspirant when the chips are down, Chief Ikoh vowed that he will never do so, pointing out that though he withdrew in 2015 when he sought to contest for the Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency seat, he was deceived into taking that haste decision by some powerful forces.

“I will never withdraw, nobody had given me money to step down for him in the past and this will not be an exception. I will fight to the end and ensure that victory is eventually secured. I’m in the race to win and offer the best service to my people”.

Also speaking during the declaration ceremony, an APC chieftain and Coordinator of Our Destiny Organization, (Campaign Organization), Christopher Itoegbu, described the former commissioner for Industry in the state as a man of the people, who despite all odds built an industry, the Harmony Foam in his country home at Ahuwa Oboro community against he advise of some self-centered people.

According to him, “Henry Okoh is a salient achiever and a man of the people go should be given the chance to offer his services at the highest legislative assembly so that our people will rejoice after some years in Red chamber”, maintained.
