The former Director General, National Productivity Centre NPC, Dr Kashim Akor, NPOM, FNIM said the extension and sustenance of corporate social responsibility CSR program by the centre to Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba was evidenced of proactiveness of the management of the University under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche.
He made the assertion on Tuesday at the University clinic during the presentation of large consignment of hospital equipments to the University received by the Vice Chancellor of the institution.
According to Dr Kashim Akor, Nigeria institutions today is dependent on both private and public sector and by extension public spirited individuals to manage the ever demanding environment and health challenges , situations we have found ourselves.
“We started with the Prince Abubakar Audu University with an initial donation of laptops, solar street lights and today we are here to give large consignment of hospital equipments to advance humanity.”
“Our gesture to serve humanity especially to bridge the equipment deficit in the school clinic for the welfare of staff and students of the University, “Dr Akor further said .
“I decided to personally come around to hand over the hospital equipments as part of my promise to continue to impart, promote corporate social responsibility CSR of NPC even out of office to the University.”
“Let me also assure the management of the University of our continued supports to the school in all areas “.
Earlier , the management of the University led the Vice Chancellor, Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche described Dr Kashim Akor and the National Productivity Centre NPC as partners in the current development strides of the Kogi state institution.
“We have testimony of donations and promises fulfilled in recent times by the National Productivity Centre NPC and for sustaining the laudable efforts even out of office, we appreciate very deeply. The Vice Chancellor stated.”
“We approached the National Productivity Centre NPC on the instructions of the Vice Chancellor via a letter to extend and domicile corporate social responsibility program in the University, not long we got some laptops, after sometimes we got solar street lights and today large hospital equipments. We are eternally grateful, Professor Atidoga , the Vice Chancellor, Academics who represented the Vice Chancellor asserted.”
The University Registrar , Barrister Alilu Segun Yahaya on behalf of the University appreciated the donation by the National Productivity Centre NPC, stating that more will be expected in due course, promising to utilize the items as required.
The Director of the University Medical Services, Dr Peter Otaru exclaimed that the centre has made their day through the donation, stating that all the equipments and items donated has relevance to their activities in the hospital.
“We deeply toe the line of the management of the university to appreciate the centre and craved for more in due course .”
Highlights of the occasion included the inspection of the large consignment of the hospital equipments and presentation by the former Director General, National Productivity Centre NPC on behalf of the centre.
