Rep Paul Gowon Haruna Engages Dekina LGA Residents, Offers Financial Support

Rt. Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna IJN, Member Representing Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency, has embarked on a community engagement tour across Dekina Local Government Area in Kogi State as part of his continued commitment to grassroots development and community involvement.
A delegation led by Hon. Achile Salihu, Senior Legislative Aide to Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna, embarked on a tour of several communities within the constituency, offering financial support and endorsing local initiatives designed to improve the quality of life for the people.
Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna’s monthly salary and emoluments empowerment initiative presented ₦2,000,000 to Abocho Ward for February. HRH AJOFE JONAH OKAI IDRIS (ONU ABOCHO) AYIDU and other Abocho Ward stakeholders received the funds. This initiative provides rotational financial support to wards within the constituency, ensuring economic empowerment benefits reach grassroots communities.
In a bid to address the needs of Ajiolo Akabe community, the delegation offered financial assistance to facilitate the procurement and installation of solar-powered streetlights, a measure that responded to the community stakeholders’ request for improved lighting to enhance security and socio-economic activities within the area.
As part of its outreach efforts, the delegation also visited Dekina Ward, where they met with the Association of Meat Sellers and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Dekina town.
The Meat Sellers Association has secured financial assistance to renovate their slaughter slab (abattoir), which is expected to improve hygiene standards, enhance their business operations, and contribute to the local economy. The PCRC has also received financial support to strengthen their efforts in maintaining peace and security within the community. This contribution will aid in crime prevention, foster a harmonious relationship between the police and residents, and ensure the safety of lives and property in Dekina Ward.
Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna IJN remains steadfast in his commitment to providing people-centered representation, thereby ensuring that his constituents reap tangible benefits from his stewardship. Initiatives such as these facilitate his ongoing efforts to empower communities, support infrastructure development, and uphold peace and security in Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency.
The community engagement tour received a warm welcome from stakeholders and residents, who voiced their appreciation for the Honorable Member’s dedication to grassroots development and inclusive governance.
