Oborevwori focusing on making Delta largest economy in Nigeria – Oghenesivbe
Director General, Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that governor Sheriff Oborevwori is focused on making Delta the largest economy in Nigeria within the life span of his administration.
The Bureau Chief gave the assurance during live broadcast of “Orientation Panorama,” a public affairs program on Voice of Delta 97.7 FM Radio monitored in Asaba on Wednesday.
He attributed the state robust economy to the diligent and strategic implementation of governor Oborevwori’s MORE agenda, prudent management of state resources, accountability, transparency in governance, as well as deliberate and result oriented oversight functions in place to ensure sustainable socioeconomic and infrastructural development in all sectors of the state economy.
Dr Oghenesivbe said governor Oborevwori did the needful by appointing super technocrats, renowned economists and financial experts to serve in his cabinet, leveraging on multifaceted realistic reforms, cross fertilization of ideas, and formulation of people focused economic policies.
He stated that the diligent and strategic implementation of the governor’s MORE Agenda helped in reducing poverty to the nearest minimum, upscaled prosperity and substantial growth in Gross Domestic Product, GDP, as well as a thriving private sector.
Oghenesivbe asserted that the undisputed giant strides of governor Oborevwori in all sectors of the state economy earned him “Governor of the Year Award” and “Best Governor in Infrastructure Development Award” by ThisDay Arise Media Group, and The New Telegraph Newspapers within 18 months in Office.
The State Communication Bureau Director General further disclosed that so much progress had been achieved in all sectors of the state economy, pointing out that Agriculture grow with over 13 percent within the past 18 months, while infrastructure development and expansion of the educational and Health sectors provided thousands of jobs and created substantial wealth for Deltans.
“The monumental progress made so far in economic remodelling, infrastructure development and other sectors can only be attributed to the visionary and purposeful leadership of our indefatigable governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
“Delta is now one of the 4th largest economy in Nigeria as rightly disclosed recently by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu. This is what good governance is all about.
“The good news is that the best of governor Oborevwori is yet to come, in terms of improved social welfare services, human capacity development, financial grants to entrepreneurs to boost Small and Medium Scale Businesses, improved services in all sectors of the state economy, et al.
“Our governor is focused on making Delta the largest economy within his 8 years tenure without borrowing a Penny, by the grace of God. His result oriented reforms, prudent management of state resources and accountability cannot be overemphasized.
“Delta is obviously in the fast lane of socioeconomic and infrastructure advancement. Governor Oborevwori is poised to take Delta from 4th largest economy to number one largest economy in Nigeria, before the end of his 8 years tenure on May 29, 2031,” Oghenesivbe said.
