Gov. Sule appoints Mustapha as LGSC Chair, seeks Assembly’s confirmation of Dr. Kasim as SUBEB Chair, others

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has appointed Alhaji Mustapha Abdullahi Aliyu, former Commissioner for Information, as Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC).

This appointment is part of Governor Sule’s efforts to strengthen public service and enhance governance in the state

Governor Sule also appointed Evangelist Zacharia Stephen Bariki and Umar Namama Laminga as members of the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC).

The appointment aimed to expands the commission’s leadership team to enhance local government service administration in the state.

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau announced this during the House Proceedings in Lafia today.

The Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to communicate to the appointees to submit 30 copies of their Curriculum Vitae(CV) on or before 28th of April, 2025, the date slated for their screening.

” Please Clerk you are to write to the appointees to submit 30 copies of their CV on or before 28th of April,2025″ he said.

The Speaker also announced that the Governor has submitted a letter to the House requesting screening and confirmation of the appointment of Dr. Kasim Mohammed Kasim, a former lawmaker representing Akwanga South Constituency as Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and Alanana Attah as Member 1, Hajiya Fatima Shuaibu Ahmad as Member 11, and Jibrin Egwa Nagambo (Ogaji) as Member 111, respectively.

The Speaker also directed the Clerk of the House to communicate to the appointees to submit 30 copies of their Curriculum Vitae(CV) on or before 28th of April, 2025 and appear for screening.

Besides, the House has passed into first reading A Bill For a Law to Make Provision For Regulating and Implementing Public Health Security Framework For Nasarawa State and Other Related Matters.

The Speaker announced the passage of the bill into first reading during the House Proceedings today in Lafia.

The Speaker slated 30th April, 2025 for the second reading of the bill.

The Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Suleiman Yakubu Azara moved a motion for the bill to scale first reading which was seconded by the Minority Leader of the House, Hon. Luka Iliya Zhekaba.

The House unanimously passed the bill into first reading.
