FCT poll: YPP issues clearance certificate to Loko to contest Abaji chairmanship election

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has presented clearance certificate to Hon Muhammad Angulu Loko to contest for the February 21, 2026 chairmanship election in Abaji area council of the territory.
Abraham Simeon Adedotun, the state chairman of YPP, while presenting the clearance certificate to Loko at the party’s state secretariat in Abuja, on Friday, said the clearance certificate was issued to the party’s chairmanship candidate, after fulfilling all the requirements/guidelines of the party.

He said the clearance certificate is among the requirements that any candidate vying for elective position under YPP is expected to adhered to, just like other political parties.
Adedotun, while congratulating the party’s for fulfilling all the requirements in inline with the party’s guidelines, expressed confidence that the party shall emerged victorious during forthcoming chairmanship and councilorship election in Abaji area council in February 21, 2026 election.
Responding, the YPP chairmanship candidate in Abaji area council, Hon Muhammad Angulu Loko, appreciated the state secretariat of the party for him a platform to vye for the February 21, 2026 election in the council.
He also expressed confidence that, YPP will emerge victorious not only for the chairmanship election alone, but also the councillorship of the ten political wards of Abaji area council.
On his part, the YPP chairman in Abaji area council, Hon Alhassan Suleiman, noted that, Hon Loko’s candidacy is marked by his commitment to bringing positive change and development to the Abaji community, which he said is aimed to prioritize the needs and aspirations of the citizens and ensuring their voices are heard and represented.

Our correspondent report that, the YPP chairmanship candidate was also accompanied to the state secretariat by some councilorship candidates of the party, youth/women group as well as supporters.
