British Embassy pledges humanitarian support to Toto LG, commends Chairman’s peace efforts

The British Embassy in Nigeria has pledged humanitarian support to Toto Local Government Area (LGA) following the peaceful settlement of displaced persons from Bassa and other areas. This commitment came after a visit by the Embassy delegation to Toto LGA on Tuesday.
During the visit, the delegation praised the peace and security efforts led by the Executive Chairman of Toto LGA, Pharm. Ahmed Baba Yahaya, and encouraged the continuation of these initiatives.

The delegation was led by Ambassador Chris Philip and included representatives from the Middle Belt Brain Trust (MBBT) and the Institution for Integrated Transition in Peace and Settlement.
Ambassador Chris Philip stated that the visit to Toto LGA was a follow-up and assessment mission to personally verify the level of peace following the recent return of displaced persons from Bassa and other areas.
He expressed satisfaction with the peace and security efforts led by the Toto LG Chairman, Pharm. Ahmed Baba Yahaya, and praised the State Government’s role, urging continuous commitment to sustaining peace.
Ambassador Philip also pledged additional humanitarian and other forms of support for the people of Toto LGA and encouraged the community to maintain the existing peace and unity to foster development.

Pharm. Ahmed Baba Yahaya, the Executive Chairman of Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, welcomed the delegation in his office and subsequently led them to the palace of Ohimegye Opanda, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, in Umaisha Kingdom.
Both leaders appreciated the delegation’s visit and intervention efforts.
In addition to requesting humanitarian support, Chairman Yahaya appealed for the British Embassy’s assistance in critical sectors such as education and health to further aid the development of the area.
