PCRC Karu Area Command Executives Inaugurated for Enhanced Security

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Karu area command executives have been tasked with working closely with security agencies to promote community policing and enhance security in the area.

This development comes as part of efforts to address security challenges and foster cooperation between law enforcement and the community.

The Nasarawa State Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Mr. Mandy David Abuluya, has charged new members of the committee to collaborate with security agencies to combat criminal activities in the state.

He gave the charge during the inauguration of the Karu Area Command and Divisions of the PCRC, held at Esu Karu, on Saturday.

Addressing the newly inaugurated members of the Karu Area Command of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), the Nasarawa State Chairman, Mr. David Abuluya, represented by his Vice Chairman, Special Duties, Colonel Ibrahim Babayo (retired), described community policing as a vital component of efforts to ensure the safety and security of citizens through collaboration with law enforcement agencies and community members.

According to Mr. Abuluya, the PCRC plays a crucial role in promoting community policing and security in the state, committing to implement initiatives that enhance peace and security.

He disclosed that the PCRC plans to establish a safe school training center and create youth empowerment and employment opportunities, urging executive members to remain committed to community policing principles and work together to implement these plans.

“We are committed to providing youth employment and employment opportunities through skills acquisition development programs, entrepreneurship training, and job placement initiative. This will enable communitees members to take ownership of their security”

The Chairman of Karu Local Government Area, Barr. Abubakar Aliyu Madaki, represented by his deputy, Ibrahim Bulus, and Esu Karu, represented by the District Head of Karu, Danladi Sheshi, commended the PCRC for maintaining law and order through community engagement and emphasized that security is everyone’s responsibility and promised to support the PCRC commands.

The inauguration ceremony, attended by heads of security agencies in Karu Local Government Area, featured calls for PCRC members to provide timely information to security agencies and collaborate to achieve success.

Inaugurating the new officials, Barrister Liatu Makama charged them to operate within PCRC rules and regulations to project a positive image.

Dr. Bello Michael, Chairman of the Karu Area Command of PCRC, stated that the inauguration brought the number of divisions to 10 in Karu Local Government Area, appealing for public support in fighting
insecurity.

Highlight points of the inauguration were the appointment of the Esu Karu pharmacist Luka Panya Baba as the grand patron of the PCRC and presentation of certificates to the new officials.
