Karimi Urges Security Agencies to Intensify Operations, Secure Release of Egbe Abductees

Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has called on security operatives to intensify efforts toward the rescue of victims abducted during a recent bandit attack in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area.

The appeal follows a Wednesday night attack in Odo-Ere community, where suspected gunmen reportedly abducted a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, alongside his wife, children, and several other residents.

Reacting to the incident, Senator Karimi urged security agencies to deploy all necessary resources to ensure the safe return of the victims and the swift apprehension of those responsible.

While commending ongoing efforts by security personnel, the lawmaker stressed the need for a prompt and decisive response to prevent further escalation of violence in the area.

He described the attack as a desperate move by fleeing criminals following sustained pressure from security forces in recent weeks, warning that such incidents must not be allowed to undermine the progress already recorded.

The senator also appealed to residents to remain calm, vigilant, and supportive of security operations by providing credible information that could aid investigations.

“Government is doing its best, and our security agencies have continued to demonstrate capacity in addressing these threats,” he said, expressing optimism that the perpetrators would soon be brought to justice and normalcy restored to the affected community.
