Delta APC United Under Oborevwori, Operating At ‘Distinction Level’ — Aniagwu

The Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, Monday, said the State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has achieved unprecedented unity and cohesion under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Addressing journalists in Asaba on Monday, Aniagwu said the Governor’s political integration efforts since the transition from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC on April 28 had fostered harmony and collective purpose across all strata of the party in the state.

He noted that extensive meetings had been held at the ward, local government and senatorial levels to consolidate internal unity, culminating in the recent statewide stakeholders’ meeting attended by top political figures, senators, and members of the House of Representatives and top government elected and appointees.

“At that meeting, participants unanimously expressed confidence in the Governor’s performance and pledged total support for both Governor Oborevwori and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections,” Aniagwu said.

Aniagwu, who was in company of the Chief Press Secretary (CPS ) to the Governor, Sir Festus Ahon and the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Public Enlightenment, Projects and Policies, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, dismissed claims of disunity in the party, stressing that turnout and participation at the stakeholders’ meeting were exceptional.

“Out of all our senators, and nearly all of House of Representatives members, were present and participated fully. Those absent had official engagements and even took formal permission. That’s why I say, in Delta APC, we are operating at a level of distinction,” he stressed.

Aniagwu likened the party’s current strength to scoring a distinction in an examination. “In an examination, when you score 50%, you get credit. But when you achieve 98% success in a political gathering, that’s distinction,” he said, adding that the Governor’s inclusive leadership had created a renewed sense of purpose among members.

He observed that politics required constant management of interests and relationships, describing the Governor as a patient and insightful leader who understood the dynamics of people and power.

“Rather than focus on the few who couldn’t make it to the meeting, we should celebrate the hundreds who did and those who spoke, contributed, and reaffirmed their loyalty to the party and its leadership,” Aniagwu said.

He maintained that the enthusiasm and unity witnessed across the state were proof that the Delta APC was stronger than ever, with its members aligned in vision and purpose under Governor Oborevwori’s leadership.
