Kogi: Prince Abubakar Audu was a model leader with a strong impact during his terms in office – Prince Michael Ojotule

Prince Michael Ojotule, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain has praised Prince Abubakar Audu’s courageous leadership style and his selflessness in service, urging Igala leaders to emulate his leadership quality

While commemorating on 10th anniversary of Audu’s passing, Prince Ojotule said the late political leader and former governor of Kogi State, will be remembered for his unifying leadership and selfless service.

The Ibaji Prince said as governor, he notably ensured the equitable distribution of resources across the state.

His significant achievements include infrastructure development such as the establishment of housing schemes for public officers, transformation of Lokoja township including asphalt roads and street lights, construction of rural roads, electrification projects, and water supply initiatives.

According to him, Audu founded key institutions including Kogi State Polytechnic and Kogi State University now Prince Abubakar Audu University Ayingba, as well as a television station, radio stations, and a state newspaper.

He also upgraded the colonial Lugard House into a modern government house complex and built the Abuja State Liaison Office, a sports complex, and the Confluence Beach Hotel.

Another major milestone was the initiation and support of the Obajana Cement Factory project.

His administration was marked by significant socio-economic development and the attraction of investors to the state’s solid mineral potentials.

He was widely regarded as a model leader whose impact was felt strongly during his terms in office. Prince Ojotule added.
