Nollywood Actress Yvonne Jegede hits back at online trolls targeting her and son

Yvonne Jegede, a Nollywood Actress and single mother, has recently addressed online trolls who targetted her and her young son amid backlash from her public comments on industry peers and personal life choices. She emphasized resilience against harassment while highlighting the emotional toll on her child.

Jegede responses was a pattern of defending her stance on social issues despite criticism.
Global Times Nigeria learnt that Trolls attacked Jegede and her son following her appearances on podcasts like Honest Bunch, where candid discussions drew negative attention. She revealed that her interviews were structured to provoke reactions, leading to her son facing online abuse.
Critics also targeted her support for Regina Daniels amid abuse allegations, accusing her of hypocrisy as a single mother. However,Jegede dismissed critics harshly, calling out senior colleagues for mocking Daniels and urging empathy over ridicule.
She stated, “Shame on you,” to those laughing online and insisted violence must be condemned regardless of gender.

Speaking futher on trolls, she described them as heartless, refusing to engage negativity while prioritizing her mental health and her son’s protection.
Many views her recent statement as a perfect fits of Jegede’s history of clapbacks, including past drags on paternity trolls and recent clarifications on non-friendships like with Annie Idibia.
She stressed respecting choices and avoiding public shaming, even amid her 20-year career milestones.
