Youths from Nasarawa West Senatorial District have launched a sweeping consultation tour across the zone’s five local government areas: Toto, Karu, Nasarawa, Keffi, and Kokona to rally support for Prof. Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana, SAN, who has declared his ambition to represent the district as senator in the 2027 elections.
Led by the Youth Wing of “Prof. Kana for Senator 2027,” the initiative, tagged “Nasarawa West Youth Consultative Committee for Prof. Abdulkarim A. Kana Senatorial Ambition, 2027”, is under the command of Comrade Jaafar Muhammad Loko.
The tour blasted off in Toto Local Government Area, where the delegation engaged youth leaders, community elders, and party loyalists in high-energy interactive sessions.
A highlight was the formal inauguration of the Toto LGA Chapter of the committee, a game-changer for grassroots drive.
Youths were tasked to fan out across the area, championing Prof. Kana’s bold vision, aspirations, and detailed development blueprint for Nasarawa West.
The momentum rolls on to Karu, Nasarawa, Keffi, and Kokona LGAs, as the campaign amps up youth backing and stakeholder buy-in district-wide.
In Toto alone, a 20-member steering committee drawn from the 12 electoral wards has been unveiled to harmonize youth groups, boost awareness, and propel Prof. Kana’s aspirations.

The Nasarawa West Youth Consultative Committee (NWYCC) is a grassroots initiative comprising dynamic and forward-thinking young individuals from across the Nasarawa West Senatorial District. Our formation is driven by a collective aspiration for transformative leadership and effective representation in the Nigerian Senate. We are committed to mobilizing support and advocating for the candidacy of Professor Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana, SAN, for the Nasarawa West Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

The Nasarawa West Senatorial District, encompassing Keffi, Karu, Kokona, Nasarawa, and Toto Local Government Areas, is a region rich in human and natural resources. The youth, in particular, seek a leader who can champion their cause, foster economic empowerment, and ensure their voices are heard in national discourse.

A Professor of Law from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and a former Dean of the Faculty of Law. He holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Jos, Nigeria .
